Nichole Short, NP-C IBCLC
Nichole Short, FNP-C, IBCLC, is a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience in women’s health, offering compassionate, integrative care for patients of all ages at Tenpenny Integrative Medical Center. She is passionate about supporting the entire family—from newborns to adults—with a special focus on maternal, pediatric, and family wellness.
Nichole was drawn to healthcare through her deep love of caring for others, but her journey into integrative medicine became personal after witnessing her father’s battle with cancer and later experiencing her own son’s healing through a more holistic, root-cause approach. These experiences shaped her belief in the body’s ability to heal when given the right support and environment.
Her approach to care is rooted in partnership. Nichole believes patients and families should feel supported, empowered, and actively involved in their health decisions. She sees her role as a guide—helping patients navigate their wellness journey while honoring their individual goals and values.
Nichole has a strong clinical focus on lactation support and takes great pride in helping mothers achieve their breastfeeding goals. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), she provides comprehensive evaluations, including feed observations, pre- and post-feed weights, and individualized care plans. She is especially passionate about supporting the mother-baby relationship and helping give children a strong foundation for lifelong health.
In addition to lactation care, Nichole provides well-child visits, family care for all ages, and guidance on lifestyle and nutrition. She integrates her passion for clean, ancestral-style eating and foundational wellness principles into her care, helping families make informed choices that support long-term health for generations to come.
Nichole earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Cleveland State University, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Purdue Global University. Her background includes extensive experience in labor and delivery, postpartum care, and pediatric health.
She finds the most rewarding part of her work is helping families recognize that they have the ability to take control of their health and change the trajectory of their future. Patients often appreciate her calm, supportive presence and her genuine desire to walk alongside them in their care.
Outside of the office, Nichole enjoys spending time with her husband of 24 years and their three children. She loves being involved in her family’s activities and is passionate about building community, including her involvement in the co-op
“Raising Arrows,” which she started with close friends.
