Kim Tanner, NP-C

Kimberly Tanner, FNP-C, is a Family Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about helping patients explore personalized options beyond a conventional approach to healthcare. At Tenpenny Integrative Medical Center, she currently focuses on peptide therapy, patient education, and helping individuals take a more active role in their health and wellness.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Kimberly worked as a registered nurse in a functional medicine practice. She also gained broad clinical experience while working in the float pool at Cleveland Clinic. These experiences allowed her to care for patients with a wide range of needs while strengthening her interest in a more personalized, whole-person approach to health.

Kimberly’s interest in integrative medicine grew through her own health journey and the experience of watching someone close to her family face a serious health challenge. These experiences encouraged her to begin asking deeper questions, conducting her own research, and looking beyond conventional approaches to better understand the factors that influence health and healing.

Her approach to care is centered on listening, education, and partnership. Kimberly believes patients should be active participants in their healthcare decisions. She sees her role as providing guidance, explaining available options, and helping each patient make informed decisions that align with their individual needs, goals, and lifestyle. She wants every patient to feel comfortable asking questions and to leave feeling heard, supported, and genuinely cared for.

Kimberly has completed two educational courses in peptide therapy, including a continuing education course, and has devoted extensive time to researching peptide protocols and their clinical applications. She is especially interested in the individualized nature of peptide therapy and its potential to support the body’s natural processes, recovery, and overall wellness. Kimberly enjoys building relationships with peptide patients, helping them understand their options, and supporting them throughout their wellness journey.

As she continues her training at Tenpenny Integrative Medical Center, Kimberly looks forward to expanding her knowledge of hormone replacement therapy, women’s health during perimenopause and menopause, gut health, SIBO, type 2 diabetes, GLP 1 therapy, nutrition, weight management, chronic inflammation, and T-SRT. As her role develops, she plans to expand her practice and care for patients with a wider range of health and wellness concerns.

Kimberly was drawn to Tenpenny Integrative Medical Center after following Dr. Sherri Tenpenny from the beginning of her own health journey. She admires Dr. Tenpenny’s willingness to question conventional approaches, think differently, and encourage patients to take greater control of their health. Joining a team that shares her commitment to personalized, integrative care felt like a natural next step in Kimberly’s career.

Kimberly earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Lake Erie College and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Cleveland State University. She completed her Family Nurse Practitioner education through Purdue Global University. Naturally curious and committed to continued learning, she brings a strong nursing background, positive energy, and a team focused attitude to the practice.

Outside of the office, Kimberly enjoys spending time with her husband, their two sons, and their dogs. Much of her free time is spent cheering on her sons as they participate in football, basketball, baseball, travel baseball, and wrestling. She also enjoys Pilates, gardening, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and continuing to learn about health, wellness, and functional medicine.
