Chronic Pain Relief

If the structure is out of alignment, the body cannot function properly. Tenpenny IMC believes strongly in the importance of structure-function relationships. We offer several effective treatments for integrative pain relief – the are best used in combination.

Mannitol Injection Therapy (MIT)

A new treatment for chronic pain has emerged from Down Under that is dramatically effective for is a very effective for most injuries, including joint, tendon, ligament and muscle pain. The treatment involves using a substance called mannitol. The solution is injected immediately under the skin with a very fine (30ga)needle, addressing the source of the pain with a demonstrated success rate of 85%. Restated, the technique can alleviate 100% of pain and restore 100% of the function in up to 85% of patients with most conditions. For more information, go here.

Pain is an unpleasant sensation, ranging in intensity from slight through severe to indescribable. Sharp, throbbing, dull, nauseating, burning and shooting are among the qualities that pain can be experienced to have. While pain is association with an occurrence in the physical body, pain can also arise from the emotions. Pain can be a sign of tissue inflammation, an early warning sign that the body needs attention before it deteriorates to the point of disease.

Founded in the 1890s, by DD Palmer, chiropractic philosophy is that the alignment of the spine is essential to good health. Dr. Matt Grant is TIMC`s chiropractor. His family members were regular patients of Dr. Tenpenny’s father, in Attica, Ohio, the inspiration for his career.

Osteopathic Manipulation Treatment (OMT)

Osteopathic medicine was founded in 1874 by Andrew Taylor Still, a US medical doctor (MD). While osteopathic and chiropractic manipulation overlap in many ways , they are not identical. Specific techniques include muscle-energy, Jones counterstrain (also known as strain-counterstrain), myofascial release, and osteopathy in the cranial field. Cranial Osteopathy

Cranial Osteopathy is a medical treatment applied by licensed physicians (MD or DO) who have completed a medical education and numerous years of additional training in this specialty. Basic introductory courses in cranial osteopathy include 40 to 80 hours of intense training. At Tenpenny IMC, Dr. Sherri Tenpenny has been highly trained in  the study of anatomy and physiology of the cranium and its inter-relationship with the body as a whole. This gentle technique can be used for the prevention AND for the treatment of disease. Osteopathy in the cranial field is an expansion of the general principles of osteopathy. Cranial is safe, gentle, and effective for all ages including newborns. A single 24 hour course provides a certificate. For a more information on cranial osteopathy, go here.

Acupuncture is an ancient technique where fine needles are inserted at specific points just under the skin to stimulate, disperse and balance the flow of energy. The result is the relief of pain and restoration of normal energetic balance.
